Site Description
The lovely beachside Cavendish Hotel, in Eastbourne, England, will be host to the Feast of Tabernacles in the United Kingdom this year. The Sussex Suite provides a plush private setting for up to 120 brethren for services and fellowship. Follow the link to ten top tourist attractions listed as the most popular places of interest nearby, including Beachy Head, for spectacular views, the Carpet Gardens, where many shrubs and plant species from around the world, including from Mexico, New Zealand and the Mediterranean, thrive in the town's mild climate. Eastbourne is 20 miles from Brighton to the west, and Hastings, to the east.
Originally a fishing village and later developed into a large Victorian beach resort, Eastbourne is one of the most popular and sunniest places to visit in England for those seeking a seaside getaway. Its elegant three-mile-long seafront promenade extends along wide pebble beaches, and a marvelous holiday atmosphere permeates the spectacular mid-19th-century Grande Parade. The Pier is a great place to walk out several hundred feet above the waves and enjoy entertainment or a meal!
The Cavendish Hotel is a four-star Victorian hotel, overlooking the English channel. We encourage those attending this Feast site to stay either at the hotel or close by in one of the many other hotels or self-catering apartments (condominiums). A full English breakfast and a buffet dinner will be options where guests can enjoy meals with other Feast-goers, fellowshipping in the plush and relaxing environment of the hotel. Accommodation and eating-out options are within easy walking distance of the hotel and can be reviewed at visiteastbourne.co.uk.
Accommodation at the Cavendish Hotel
The standard rooms at the Cavendish Hotel are pleasant but may not have a sea view. For a modest additional cost you can have a sea-facing room where you will be rewarded with an ever-changing view of the waves on the beach just over the road. Those accepted for the UK site will book directly with the hotel staff using the booking reference "COGW0810" who will verify the booking against a list of those accepted to the site. So please make sure you are accepted before trying to book. If you have any special needs, please discuss them with the reservation team.
The room rates and service schedule are posted on the Feast of Tabernacles, UK - 2023 tab at british-isles.cogwa.org.
