Site Description

This year we plan to have the Feast of Tabernacles in Sierra de la Ventana, Argentina. This picturesque and touristic town in the south of Argentina is located about 450 miles south of Buenos Aires and only 60 miles from the city of Bahia Blanca.

As many of you know, the economic situation of Argentina has not been stable for the last few years. Because of that, the members of the Church in this country have had lots of financial problems in attending the Feast. The cost of housing and transportation for the Feast has raised significantly every year.

In order to facilitate attending the Feast for the majority of the Argentinian members, we decided to choose a place closer to where the majority of the members live. Since about 70 percent of the members live close to Sierra de la Ventana, we decided to proceed with this site.

In fact, several years ago, the Church already had the Feast of Tabernacles in this same town at the same hotel.

The hotel we will be using is the Hotel Silver Golf. This is a nice small hotel administered by the same owners. The owners make and serve food during breakfast, lunch and dinner. So, this is actually a family hotel. The cost of housing and three meals per day will be about US$25 per person.

Unfortunately, because of the small size of the hotel, not even all of the local members can stay together. However, there are other hotels and cabins within walking distance.

The members staying elsewhere can choose to eat with the brethren in the hotel at a very reasonable price. Because of the size of the meeting hall, the attendance to this Feast site is limited. So, if you are interested in attending, please decide soon and contact Saul Langarica.

As I mentioned, the closest city to Sierra de la Ventana is Bahia Blanca, where the main congregation for Argentina is located. Bahia Blanca has an airport, but unfortunately there are not direct flights from other countries. All of the flights from other countries must fly first to Buenos Aires and then to Bahia Blanca. From Bahia Blanca to Sierra de la Ventana there is a lot of ground transportation.

If you are interested in attending this site, please write to Saul Langarica at slangarica@iddam.org or call him at +56 9 85953399.
