Mendoza, Argentina
Site Description
We plan to have the Feast of Tabernacles for Argentina and central Chile in Mendoza, Argentina. Mendoza is in the foothills of the Andes, in the western part of Argentina. It is about 240 miles from Santiago and can be reached by plane either from Buenos Aires or from Santiago.
We advise visitors to fly directly to Mendoza, unless you want to see the Andes—in which case you could fly into Santiago, Chile, and then travel by bus to Mendoza. However, if you enter Chile to travel to Mendoza by land, you will be charged a $140 “reciprocity” fee.
Most of the brethren from the area will be housed in the Hotel Savoia (www.hotelessavoia.com), which is also the location for services. Due to the expansion of the hotel, we believe that there will be space for visitors who would like to stay there. However, those who stay in other hotels may purchase meals in this hotel. We will soon announce the hotel prices, which will include all meals.
We have also reserved the Hotel Huentala in downtown Mendoza for those who want to stay there (www.huentala.com). This is a very nice hotel, located in the middle of the city, where all of the shopping and places to visit are located.
You can also choose to stay in other hotels in the vicinity. Transportation by taxi is very reasonable, so you do not need to rent a car.
Temperatures in Mendoza at Feast time are in the upper 70s, and normally there is no rain at that time.
There will be translation into English of all of the services.
First Service: Wednesday, Sept. 18, at 8 p.m.
When you express your desire to attend this Feast site, we will send you a simple application in order to proceed with your reservations. You can email Saul Langarica at saul.langarica@cogwa.org.
