The Australia Feast of Tabernacles site for 2018 is changing locations to the Sunshine Coast holiday destination of Mooloolaba, located about 100 kilometers north of Brisbane, the capital city of Queensland. Services will be held on the ground floor of the Landmark Resort.
They call it the Sunshine Coast for a reason. The sunny subtropical climate is ideal for year-round activities with September high temperatures averaging 24 degrees Celsius (75 degrees Fahrenheit) and lows averaging 13 degrees C (55 degrees F).
VisitSunshineCoast.com offers Feastgoers this description:
“You can step out of your accommodation and onto the pure white sand of Mooloolaba Beach within a few minutes, or cycle up the road to Mooloolaba Spit for calm, sheltered swimming and excellent seafood cafes. Enjoy the shopping and foodie delights along Mooloolaba’s glamorous beachfront esplanade, which is full of outdoor cafes, juice bars, alfresco restaurants, and fashion boutiques. With attractions like the exciting SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast and the marina, as well as some of the Sunshine Coast’s best dining, there is non-stop entertainment available for any age. The Esplanade even boasts a public loo with a view of the vast sweep of the Pacific. This quirky icon says a lot about the place and the way it manages to combine awesome natural beauty with a down to earth heart. Mooloolaba is the Sunshine Coast’s holiday centre … at one of the safest and most family-friendly surf beaches in Australia.”
Sunshine Coast Airport (MCY), located 20 minutes away in Marcoola, is serviced by Jetstar, Virgin Australia and Qantas domestically. Alternatively, Brisbane Airport (only 1½ hours by car, bus or train) is both an international and domestic gateway to Queensland with regular transfers to the Sunshine Coast.
Bus services operate hourly door-to-door airport shuttles between the Brisbane Airport and Sunshine Coast hotels seven days a week. Train transportation between Brisbane Airport and the Sunshine Coast is also available via the Beerwah, Landsborough or Nambour train stations. Car rental is available at the Brisbane Airport (or in Mooloolaba if daily car usage is not required).
