Truth—the Standard of the Millennium
We are here to anticipate the Millennium, when the Kingdom of God will rule the earth, and when God will fill the earth with the knowledge of His truth. He will rule and judge the world in truth (Psa. 96:13, 98:2-3). Truth then, in the Millennium, shall "spring out of the earth" (Psa. 85:10-11), and truth will be universal standard of the whole world. In this study, we will review what that entails.
God will use the restoration of the nation of Israel in the millennium to reveal Himself to all of mankind. God will transform Israel's disaster into His triumph. By this merciful and dramatic act of restoring Israel as a nation, He will reveal Himself as the God of every nation.
Knowing God in the Millennium
The Bible reveals that in the Millennium, "all of them shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest." (Jer. 31:31-34) This is in stark contrast to the world today, when virtually no one really "knows" God -- but only, at best, a little "about" God. There is a big difference between knowing about a person and really knowing them. We will explore this difference, in the Scriptures, and focus our minds on what a difference that will make in the world during the Millennium -- when people generally will not only know about God, but will be in a relationship with Him so that it truly can be said that they "know" Him.
God has provided signs to mankind in the past, and will give us signs to see in our future as well. Signs He expects us to look for, to recognize, and to heed. But not all signs are from God. How can we determine if a sign is from God or not?
A Judgment in Favor of the Saints
We have a fascination with the concept of time travel, from H.G. Wells' "The Time Machine" (1895) to the "Back to the Future" movie trilogy (1985-89). Daniel 7 serves as the basis for this sermon, showing the prophet Daniel "traveling through time" in the visions God granted him, to the time when the Ancient of Days renders "a judgment in favor of the saints" at the time for "the saints to possess the Kingdom."
The End of Booths
The Israelites were to dwell in booths for seven days. On the eighth day, they left their booth. At the end of the 7th day of the FOT, something ends and something else begins. What can we learn about God's redemptive plan for all nations and peoples from this unique event?
This day pictures the awakening of Billions on the earth. The rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. What will that be like, and what will our part be in caring for, teaching, and nurturing those who are resurrected?
This sermon will focus on encouraging us to take with us, from this Feast, positive assurance that the things we have heard about the coming Millennium and Great White Throne Judgment are sure and cannot be stopped or prevented by any force or any opposition. They are certain, because of the power of God -- the same power which is available to us to serve God faithfully in the coming year, prior to the Feast in 2018!
