You are invited to join your francophone brethren in Europe to keep the Feast of Tabernacles 2017. The Festival site is located a stone’s throw from the beach on the outskirts of the city of Calais in the far north of France. Closer to London than to Paris, the site is only 40 miles from the Belgian border and 20 miles from the coast of Great Britain. On a clear day, one can stand on top of the nearby cliffs of Cap Blanc-Nez and see the white cliffs of Dover.
The Feast site and surrounding area will provide a relaxing atmosphere for keeping the Festival, as well as many opportunities for fellowship. We are expecting an attendance of up to 150 brethren from France, Belgium, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States and other parts of the world. Services will be held alternately in French and English, with simultaneous translation offered via FM radio and headsets that attendees must bring with them.
It seems that every year, those who attend for the first time are pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome they receive from their francophone brethren. Members tell us that one of the most enjoyable aspects of attending in France is the relaxed fellowship around mealtime. Breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner will be served on-site daily as part of the all-inclusive rate.
The surrounding region will inspire your imagination as you discover its rich history and culture. Explore local cuisine, arts and crafts by taking one or more of the optional excursions by bus. This year, we plan to enjoy nearby towns and historic sites such as Boulogne-sur-Mer, Bruges, and La Coupole (a museum located in a Nazi-built V-2 launch facility).
Accommodations offered at the site will vary based on availability as the site approaches full capacity. Each accommodation is furnished with a television, a kitchenette, a bathroom (shower and sink), water closet (toilet) and a terrace with garden furniture.
